There are things I love about Ohio. I love Reds opening day. I love three of the four seasons. I also love the fact that growing up, there were problem we really didn’t have to deal with. When I was a kid heroin was one of those problems. That was a big city problem. For the most part it existed in Los Angeles and New York City. Sure, you read about it but it was as close as the Taj Mahal. In the last year that has changed. In the last week reality has come crashing home. I personally know two people who passed away in the last week from a heroin overdose. What is worse is they were both young people. From my perspective they were babies.
I don’t know how to fix this problem but something must be done. It is not glamorous and we are losing a generation. It is not high paid rock stars or actors but babies on the main streets of middle America.
Talk to your kids. If necessary get them help. Reach out. Become involved. Do something. Because this has to stop.
